MARTIN UNSWORTH

Martin is a sports Lecturer at the Henley College and a well known voice and face Martin Unswortharound Town. Getting involved with Regatta Radio was an obvious choice for someone who lives with a family obsessed with rowing. His wife, Sally is a rowing coach at the local private school, Shiplake College, daughter Joanna is a National Champion competing for the Henley Rowing Club and following in the footsteps of brother William, presently a GB under 23 International and Rowing for Leander Club. “It was a truly fantastic time last year “, explains Martin “we were leaping around the studio as Will won the Thames Cup, beating the favourites Tideway Scullers in a thrilling final”. As well as running his own production business making commercials and jingles for radio stations across the country, Danny is an experienced radio entertainer having worked at some of the biggest  BBC and commercial radio stations. He’ll be working as Regatta Radio’s Production Manager, so he’ll spend most of his days in a darkened studio making sure if Sir Steve Redgrave says it – you won’t miss it.

CINDY BURROWES

Cindy is a local, born and bred  who spent many hours with her boat obsessed father on the Henley stretch of the Cindy BurrowesRiver Thames helping him with his various craft such as SL Alaska. Her formative years, combined with a journalism degree meant that it was probably inevitable that the combination would team her up with Regatta Radio.  Following the degree, from New York University, USA,  Cindy  returned to her roots to complete her training on local papers in Berkshire and to try her hand at broadcasting with a local hospital radio station. Her marriage, a move to the West Country and two children later she returned to journalism in London within the property sector eight years ago and is back for her third year broadcasting with Regatta Radio.

MICHELLE LIVINGS

As a former Miss Henley (circa 1995), Henley College graduate, Jeanine Greville student and dancer with Maggie Michelle LivingsBeedell’s Cameo Dancers, Michelle has a strong affiliation with the town. She now works as a freelance presenter covering music events, film premieres and even selling the odd kettle on cult auction channel Bid TV. She’s been to many a Regatta in previous years, donning a long-length dress and quaffing Pimms and iced coffee in the Leander Club whilst watching the rowers saunter past. She says it is now a real pleasure to be participating in a more productive way and presenting some shows for Regatta Radio (although she’ll still be popping into Leander for a cheeky one too!).
